Gibran had said:
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
Which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
Today, Jim starts for London to attend the English summer camp, this is the
first time he goes abroad not to accompany with us. I have been started to
miss him, but he just left me for two hours………..When he waved his hand
through the window of tourist coach to say good-bye to me, I found my eyes
are full of tears…..Children someday will grow up and leave us, they will
have their own world, nothing we can do to stop it, just let them go, this is
a constant rule. What are parents able to do? Only to support and love.
